The Quality Assurance (QA) Nurse is in a pivotal position to provide balance between the provision of integrated patient care and success of our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Operations Team with the implementation of clinical models and systems throughout the Alumus/Encore Continuum of Care.
  • Monitors for the ongoing implementation and effectiveness of facility systems to maintain regulatory compliance and meet quality standards.
  • Conducts QAPI audits and monitors compliance to PIPs.
  • Assists TRCs with review of QA audit results and in identifying and implementing solutions at the facility level.
  • Assists with on-site unannounced and announced mock surveys in accordance with the Corporate Compliance Schedule.
  • Provide status reports to the VP of Clinical Operations relative to property progress and performance improvement plans.
  • Validate the facility outcome indicators through process reviews.
  • Ensures reports, studies and results of the QAPI are analyzed for patterns and trends and directs the necessary appropriate action to be taken.
  • Serves as a resource in compliance activities and as a support system for survey preparation and review to corporate and facility staff.
  • Assists in the Development, maintenance and implementation of nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, facility culture, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assists in the Development, maintenance and implementation of an effective orientation program that orients new Directors of Nursing to the properties, policies and procedures, and to his/her job position and duties.

Qualifications

  • Must have a current Registered Nurse Multi-state licensure preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in overseeing or active participation in the QAPI activities of the facility.
  • Ability to apply business principles including systems thinking, to the healthcare environment; basic business principles include (a) financial management, (b) human resource management, (c) organizational dynamics and governance, (d) strategic planning and marketing, (e) information management, (f) risk management, and (g) quality improvement.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external customers, to establish and maintain relationships, and to facilitate constructive interactions with individuals and groups.
  • Must demonstrate outstanding verbal communication, customer-focus and problem solving skills, excellent judgment and proactive manner are required.
  • Must be capable of working under pressure in a busy setting, projecting a friendly and professional Must be versatile and adapt to changing job duties and priorities, and/or emergent or stressful situations.
  • Must be familiar with computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
