Overview

The Maintenance Director is responsible for organizing and supervising the Environmental Guest Associate staff and work, in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing Skilled Nursing and Long-term Care facilities, and as may be directed by the Environmental Services Director, to assure that the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate environmental services with other related departments.
  • Conduct daily rounds to ensure environmental services staff are fulfilling their duties and following proper procedures to meet facility needs.
  • Ensure that environmental services personnel are properly trained and following safety regulations.
  • Participate in facility surveys (inspections). Assist with the development and execution of a plan of correction for environmental services deficiencies noted during survey inspections.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of environmental services personnel.
  • Schedule department work hours (including vacation and holiday schedules), personnel, work assignments, etc., to expedite work.
  • Assist the Director with counseling/disciplining maintenance/environmental services personnel as necessary. 
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of environmental services areas including guest rooms.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years housekeeping experience in a professional setting.
  • Minimum of six (6) months lead/supervisory experience in a housekeeping setting strongly preferred.
  • Experience ordering inventory and a strong knowledge regarding appropriate chemical storage.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing Skilled Nursing and Long-term Care facilities.
  • Possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.

Pay Range
