The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring that claims are submitted in a timely manner, posting and reconciling insurance and patient payments.
• Prepare and manage Worker’s Comp billings. Submission of claims will be performed via fax, email or electronic methods.
• Maintain all Worker’s Comp patient accounts including monthly statements and collections.
• Research and resolve EOB rejections and other issues with outstanding accounts.
• Help facilitate new client/patient admissions, ensuring details are secure for authorizations. Ensuring patient setup is accurate in the billing software programs.
• Input ancillary charges into AR software for Worker’s Comp patients.
• Communicate with facility staff as required to obtain or verify billing information.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Healthcare Billing Collections required.
• Two (2) year experience medical billing Worker’s Comp preferred.
• Skilled nursing facility (SNF) Billing experience a plus.
• Home Health Billing experience a plus.
• Must be a self-starter, organized and detail oriented.
• Able to interpret and implement Worker’s Comp payer guidelines.
• Excellent understanding of insurance billing regulations.
• Work well under pressure of deadlines and in diversified work environments.
• Must demonstrate strong communication skills in both verbal and written format.
• Professional attitude and work ethics.
• Familiar with Computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Experience with Point Click Care - PCC software a plus, but not required.
